Darjeeling

Darjeeling is a small town with hills and the healthy climate means walks around town are an extremely enjoyable means of getting around.

A great way to spend a day is to take a share-jeep to Ghoom (the next town up the ridge), visit some monasteries there and walk back to Darjeeling via some of the villages.

One can also walk to the Botanical garden and spend a few pleasant hours appreciating the nature; then, there is a rock garden, which is very much at a (slightly longish) walkable distance. One can also enjoy the pleasant atmosphere at Merik Lake.

Kolkata

Kolkata is an ‘in your face’ city that shocks and charms the unsuspecting visitor. If your trip only allows for a visit of one or two of India’s metropolitan cities, then definitely consider placing Kolkata on your itinerary. Kolkata is arguably one of the most socially, culturally and politically progressive cities in India

Sikkim

Sikkim located at east India named as adobe of nature, it has the snow covered mountains & lush green valleys not only invigorates one’s soul, it also leaves the spectators bewildered by the extravaganza of its natural beauty. Nearly 40% of the total area is forested.
